Downtown events make Greater Des Moines a vibrant destination and attract visitors from the Metro and beyond. Unique year-round activities highlight the city and the state’s recreational opportunities, diversity, agricultural heritage and arts and culture. The Downtown Community Alliance is dedicated to producing annual large-scale festivals and events in downtown Des Moines, to effectively contribute to the favorability and vitality of downtown, thereby enhancing the overall quality of life, economic development and cultural diversity in greater Des Moines through accessible festivals and special events reflecting the vibrancy and character of the community.
