Nominations currently are being taken for the 2006 Celebrate Business And Economic Impact Awards. The awards were created to promote the betterment of the Greater Des Moines business community by publicly recognizing innovative and enduring business initiatives.

Now in its 6th year, the Celebrate Business! Awards recognize large and small businesses in five categories, including Community Champion, Best Kept Secret and Workplace Environment. The Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority and the Transportation Management Association once again will recognize a business with the Commuter Award for its efforts in encouraging employees to use alternative modes of transportation. New to the 2006 awards is the Best Workplace for Young Professionals, which recognizes a business that fosters an atmosphere for young professionals to work and grow in.

The deadline for nominations is September 15, 2006. Winners will be announced at the annual awards ceremony in October and also will be featured in the Des Moines Business Record. The Celebrate Business and Economic Impact Awards are sponsored by the Partnership, RSM McGladrey and the Des Moines Business Record.
