Commitment to diversity is more than a way of doing business within the organization for many Des Moines businesses. They show this commitment by providing financial support to diverse professional, social and civic organizations including schools, community groups and mutlicultural events which promote and/or celebrate diversity. Some of the exciting events sponsored by area businesses include the Des Moines Human Rights symposium, the annual NAACP banquet and the Des Moines Art Center’s “I Dream a World” art exhibit. Some companies also have established employee volunteer programs to encourage and reward their employees for giving of their time and talent to many worthwhile and diverse causes and events in the community.
