In 2005,the Partnership led a united contingency of a record-setting 180 Central Iowa business and civic leaders on our annual lobbying trip to Washington, DC to advocate for our regional federal priorities. We were successful in helping convince our Congressional delegation to fund over $175 million in regional infrastructure, quality of life, and other economic development projects, including:
  • The Southeast Connector
  • I-235
  • Riverpoint West
  • World Food Prize Foundation
  • Principal Riverwalk
  • Recreational trails projects
  • Pappajohn Higher Education Center
  • Transportation projects in Altoona/Pleasant Hill, Ankeny,Bondurant, Clive, Grimes, Indianola, Johnston, Urbandale, Waukee, West Des Moines and unincorporated Polk County
