Iowa is a Right-To-Work State
Under Iowa law, an employee must not be required to join a union or pay dues or fees to any labor union, association or organization, as a condition of employment.
Unemployment Insurance
Iowa has the third-lowest new employer Unemployment Insurance rate allowed by law. The standard new employer rate for all non-construction businesses is 1.5 percent on a taxable wage base of $25,300 for a three-year period. Approximately 52 percent of Iowa businesses will experience a zero rate in 2012.
