2010Trip Dates: June 9-11, 2010

Thank you to everyone who attended the 2010 DM/DC Trip. 
Advocacy efforts focused on establishing support for economic development projects and policies that enhance business competitiveness, nurture entrepreneurs, improve quality of life, help communities attract and retain employers and employees, and create new jobs.  The 2010 trip featured a great lineup of speakers, including Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), and Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-IL).  

Participants also heard from a top tier national media panel that included:

DM/DC 2009: Thirtieth Anniversary - Recap
The Greater Des Moines Partnership led a delegation of business, civic and community leaders from across Central Iowa on its 30th annual lobbying trip to Washington DC in June. Advocacy efforts focused on establishing support for economic development projects and policies that enhance business competitiveness, nurture entrepreneurs, improve quality of life, help communities attract and retain employers and employees, and create new jobs. Special thanks to our 173 participants and all of our sponsors for making the 2009 trip a success!

2009 marked the 30th Anniversary of the annual lobbying trip as the Greater Des Moines Partnership once again leads a delegation of business, civic and leaders from across Central Iowa to Washington, D.C.  

The 2009 trip featured a powerful lineup of speakers including Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, House Republican Leader John Boehner, and Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack.  Click on the trip schedule link below for full details!
