The Partnership’s Diversity Committee is compiled of members from the Greater Des Moines business community who are dedicated to creating inclusive corporate cultures and growing varied customer bases. The committee acts as a catalyst to mobilize the business community toward a broad economic development vision that incorporates all people as valued contributors and valuable customers. The Diversity Committee works to provide access to diversity-related educational resources to all organizations in the metro. To this goal, the Partnership teams up with member organizations to host quarterly Multicultural receptions that provide opportunity to recognize diversity initiatives within member organizations.
Individuals interested in serving on the Greater Des Moines Partnership's Diversity Committee must be employed by a member company or organization of the Partnership. In addition, we ask that interested persons:
- Have an interest in diversity efforts
- Be capable of influencing their company's policies and/or business efforts
- Understand business needs relevant to recruitment and retention
- Be committed to regular attendance at monthly meetings and committee events
- Committee meetings are usually held the third Thursday of each month.
