
Latin America’s American Idol Contestant Diego Val plays Lunch Unplugged!

Latin America’s American Idol contestant Diego Val plays Lunch Unplugged this Friday, Feb. 10 at noon at the Temple Theater at 1011 Locust Street in Downtown Des Moines. Born in Peru and growing up with a guitar in his hands, Diego’s talent as a musician began at a very early age. As a young teenager, he started appearing in a famous Peruvian television show and by the age of 15, modeling, singing and surfing were his charms. At 16, he took second place in the American Idol edition in Latin America, which was hosted in Peru. Diego is 24 and currently resides in Miami playing local venues and garnering quite a following with his intoxicating sound.
This year’s Lunch Unplugged is an eight-week entertainment series, held from noon – 1 p.m., this Friday, Feb. 10 and continuing weekly through Friday, Mar. 30, 2012. Other artists and dates include:

Truckstop Souvenir – Folk/Americana singer/songwriting duo - Friday, Mar. 9
Fire and Romance with Dr. Jonathan Sturm – Violin/piano classical music recital - Thursday, Mar. 22
Karla Bonoff – Singer/Songwriter - Friday, Mar. 30
Tickets are $8 and can be bundled with a boxed lunch from South Union Bread Café for an additional $7. Advance tickets can be purchased online at www.lunchunplugged.com, by phone at 515-246-2300 and at the Civic Center ticket office at 221 Walnut Street in Downtown Des Moines. Tickets may also be purchased at the door 60 minutes prior to the show for $10. Lunch from South Union must be ordered online with a ticket purchase two days prior to the show. Concert attendees may also bring their own lunch to eat in the theater.
