Greater Des Moines Partnership

Deadline for Full Travel Package for Brazil Business Mission is Tomorrow

The Brazil Business Mission Trip in October will provide a great opportunity for Iowa companies and organizations to explore new business relationships. Trip participants will visit with U.S. Embassy officials, attend business networking events, meet with Brazilian companies, associations, and government officials, as well as interact with Iowa companies already doing business in Brazil.

Brazil is currently Iowa’s seventh largest international export market, with exports from Iowa growing from $95 million in 2006 to $353 million in 2010. Brazil currently has the eighth largest economy in the world, and is projected to grow to the fifth largest by 2020 and the fourth largest by 2030. With a rapidly expanding middle class projected to reach 66 million by 2015, Brazil provides tremendous export opportunities for many Iowa companies.

Learn more about the Brazil market by visiting the Partnership's international web page  for information from experts that presented at the recent “Doing Business in Brazil” Forum held last month. Many of the presentations point to the importance of developing and strengthening relationships in-person as the key to business success in Brazil.

Please note that the registration deadline for the full travel package, including airfare, is June 23, 2011.  For more information, please visit www.desmoinesmetro.com/international-trade or contact Jessica Maldonado at jmaldonado@desmoinesmetro.com
