Wright, Gibbs and Sharpe named Downtown Brokers of the Year

Bill Wright of Terrus Real Estate Group and Linda Gibbs and Tim Sharpe, both of CB Richard Ellis/Hubbell Commercial, have received the Downtown Broker of the Year Awards from Downtown Community Alliance (DCA). Wright received the award for completing the most sales or lease transactions, while Gibbs and Sharpe were recognized for selling or leasing the most square footage of downtown office space.

Tim Leach, Vice President of Economic Development for DCA, said, "It's our pleasure to honor the people who sell and lease office space in downtown Des Moines. They are out there every day, working hard to put the right businesses into the right spaces."

Wright, Gibbs and Sharp were recognized at an awards reception held May 8 at Principal Park.

YPC launches new website

YPC is celebrating the launch of its new Web site on May 15. The domain is still the same - www.ypcdsm.com - but the resources for YPC members have expanded!

The new site contains not only the typical web site information and calendar of events, but also a new event management system with RSVP capabilities, an enhanced membership directory, custom member profiles, expanded committee pages, RSS feeds, blog capabilities, and a member benefits page (including access to member only events).

The enhanced membership directory and custom member profile pages will provide increased networking opportunities to YPC members as each member has the option of displaying company name, contact information, and a brief bio. The new membership system also allows people to pay online and instantaneously have access to all the member-only sections of the web site, including event registration.

The web site aidsYPC's mission of connecting young professionals to each other and the Greater Des Moines community.
