DC DM UNITED 2008 Registration Begins

Registration for the Greater Des Moines Partnership's 29th annual advocacy trip to Washington, D.C. has begun. The trip, slated for June 11 - 13th, provides civic, business, and community leaders from across the region a unique opportunity to lobby Congress and the Administration on a wide range of issues affecting Central Iowa. During the three-day trip, participants will attend workshops on issues including education reform, health care and wellness, transportation funding, green development incentives, and federal grant opportunities. Participants will also meet with Iowa's Congressional delegation and hear from other Congressional leaders on various issues.

DC DM UNITED Participants will also have the unique opportunity to attend a Congressional Reception hosted at the John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts with Iowa Congressional Staffers. On day two of the trip, the Partnership's Regional Affiliates will host an evening at the Mount Vernon Estate and Gardens for the participants.

The DC DM UNITED 2008 trip package includes charter air service, two nights at the Hyatt-Regency Washington on Capitol Hill, ground transportation to and from the airport, two luncheons, two breakfasts, one evening reception, plus all meetings, daytime events and materials for $1,875.

Partnership Perk - Regional Membership Directory

As part of the many benefits that membership/investment offers, the Partnership will be publishing the inaugural Partnership Regional Membership Directory. The 2008 directory has expanded from 1700 businesses and organizations to more than 4,000 Regional Members to reflect the new dual membership model established in January 2008 by the Partnership and Affiliate Chambers of Commerce.

The directory, produced in conjunction with the Des Moines Register, includes your company's name, phone, fax and website. The listing also provides an opportunity to list a contact name and e-mail for a representative. Additionally, companies will be listed once alphabetically and again in the buyer's guide by business type.

Regional membership secures a spot in the print edition that is being distributed to over 5,000 community, civic and business leaders throughout the metro. Local chamber members in good standing by March 1 secure their listing in the directory.

Additionally, companies will be listed on the Partnership's online directory. The online directory receives about 3,000 visits per month and now offers up-to-date contact information for each affiliate organization.
