Governor Culver Announces West Des Moines for New Microsoft Data Center

Governor Chet Culver, Microsoft and the Iowa Department of Economic Development announced today that the City of West Des Moines will serve as the site of Microsoft Corporation’s newest data center. The site is located southwest of the intersection of Booneville Road and South 88th Street (also known as Xavier Place). In attendance at the event was a contingent of Microsoft executives, federal and local officials and West Des Moines community leaders.

In order to assure adequate economic assistance is made available to Iowa businesses; local business owners located in a presidentially-declared disaster county (including Polk, Dallas and Warren Counties) are strongly encouraged to apply for a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) identification number.
