The Greater Des Moines Partnership and Wells Fargo have teamed up to offer a second season of “Do More in the City,” a series of events for interns spending their summer in Greater Des Moines.
Do More in the City is a series of networking events designed to engage summer interns with business and community leaders, young professionals and other interns while incorporating exposure to many of the quality of life amenities and professional development opportunities in the region.
In collaboration with the Young Professionals Connection, planned activities include: panel discussions with area executives, a community service project, professional development presentations, social networking, and opportunities to participate in the numerous events taking place in the metro throughout the summer.
The kick-off event is scheduled for Tuesday, May 27. Additional events will be held every other Thursday evening beginning June 5 and concluding August 7.

June 5th, 5:00-7:00 p.m.: Hosted by Principal Financial Group. Feautres a presentation on Communication & Image - How to Make and Impression in 90 days. Click here to view photos from this event.
June 19th, 5:30-7:30 p.m.: Blank Park Zoo clean-up and CEO Panel (Casual attire encouraged.) Click here to view photos from this event.
July 10th, 5:00-7:00 p.m.: CEO Panel and networking sponsored and hosted by Wells Fargo. Wells Fargo also generously secured I-Cubs tickets for interns for the game following the event.
July 24th, 5:00-7:00 p.m.: Entrepreneur Panel and networking at Dos Rios, hosted by GCommerce. Event included a salsa dance lesson. The Des Moines Register was there to capture the fun. See their photo gallery here.
August 7th, 5:30-7:30 p.m.: Scavenger Hunt at the Iowa State Fair (also a Nadas concert that night on the Anderson Erickson free stage inside the fairgrounds). Click here to register online.
